Easter Week

What a gorgeous week it has been in Austin!

On Wednesday, my lunch plans were cancelled just in time to be able to say "yes" to a spontaneous meet up with Mom and Dad! They drove to town to pickup something for a truck, and were able to tour my office before treating me to lunch in the yard at Cenote. We sat in the sun and caught up  before they dropped me back off and went on their way to run errands.

On Friday, my smaller team within the Development Dept. took a quarterly outing and had a delicious mexican feast at El Alma before heading over to Barton Springs to go canoeing. The Good Friday crowds were unbelievable, but once we were out on the water, it was wonderfully peaceful. The views as pictured above, were also pretty stellar. The blue green water was crystal clear, the sun was pretty warm but not enough to make you sweat yet, which is basically how I measure heat these days. I couldn't have a better team at work- and spend a lot of days being so grateful for this current phase of life!

On Friday, I savored an easier commute home with the early release, and even celebrated by stopping at Central Market on the way home. Matt had to have his toenail removed that afternoon, so we kept our plans very low-key, but enjoyed when friends stopped by the apartment to visit and introduce us to their out of town guests. On Saturday, we slept in, Matt went with the Baur/Gosnell men to Top Golf, I ran errands, and we went to Pinthouse Pizza with friends who snagged a great table for us to stay at while we talked for hours- getting to know each other better over a fantastic pie!

On Sunday, Mark and Courtney joined the family for church at Westover, and after we saw all of the new babies and friends back in town for the holiday, we went with Mike, Ann, the girls, Mark and Courtney and grabbed lunch before they had to drive home. Later in the afternoon, the we headed to Tim and Ann's for a picnic and Easter Egg Hunt.

It was so fun to watch the girls scramble for eggs, but we were very sad Jane was sick and wasn't able to join in. We also missed having Karen and Patrick there too. We sat out in the yard and played and talked for a long time, and a bunny even made an appearance (albeit short-lived when the girls started chasing it); still, what a fun easter sighting!

The girls seem to like their Uncle Matt quite a lot, even though Glo is in the habit of saying she doesn't right now. I know Matt is crazy about all of his nieces and loves nights like this where he gets to spend so much time playing!

The girls posed for this perfect picture with Papa and Nana after the hunt- pretty cute! We wish the whole bunch was able to be together, but will admit that we still had the best time talking, playing, and being outdoors for another perfect spring evening.
